§ 2-73. Motion to adjourn.

  • (a)

    A motion to adjourn the council shall always be in order except when:

    (1)

    A member is in possession of the floor;

    (2)

    The members are voting;

    (3)

    Adjournment was the last preceding motion; and

    (4)

    It has been decided that the previous question shall be taken.

    (b)

    A motion simply to adjourn shall not be subject to amendment or debate, but a motion to adjourn to a time certain shall be.
