§ 2-291. Composition; appointment, term and removal of members.

The board of fire and police commissioners shall consist of five members appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the city council; the term of each appointment shall be three years. The appointment of each member shall be made without regard or consideration to his political party affiliation, if any. A member of the board of fire and police commissioners may be removed, with or without cause, in the same manner in which the member was appointed.
