§ 38-26. Created; composition.

The police department shall consist of a chief of police, who shall be the director thereof, and such command officers, supervisors, and line staff as may be determined from time to time by the city manager. The chief of police shall be exempt from the jurisdiction of the city's board of fire and police commissioners and may be removed by the city manager in conformance with section 2-167.
