§ 70-356. Customer designated parking.

  • (a)

    No person who owns, operates, manages, or is employed at a place of business in the zone bounded by Seminary, Scott, Illinois, and West Streets (central business district) shall park in spaces designated as customer parking only, while the person is working at the business.

    (b)

    Customer designated parking shall include the following street blocks: 100 block of North Main Street, East Front Street, East Wesley Street, and East Liberty Drive; 100, 200 and 300 blocks of West Front Street (except the south side in front of 312 West Front Street) and West Wesley Street (except the south side of the 200 block between the alley and Wheaton Avenue and the north side of the 300 block); 100 and 200 blocks of West Liberty Drive (except the north side of the 200 block) and North Hale Street (except north of Karlskoga Avenue); Parking Lot #2 located south of West Wesley Street between Main Street and Hale Street; Level 1 and Level 2 of Municipal Parking Garage North; and the ground level of Municipal Parking Garage South.

    (c)

    It shall be a rebuttable presumption that any person who is an employee of a business in the central business district shall be deemed to be working at his place of business Monday through Sunday.

    (d)

    Only those persons seeking to purchase merchandise or services within the central business district shall be allowed to park a vehicle in customer designated parking locations. All other vehicles, including those parking for train commuting purposes, are prohibited.
